Our Foundation Wage

We do the right thing. It’s been UW Credit Union’s guiding philosophy for nearly a century, and it applies to how we treat our employees as well as how we serve our members. We believe that all employees deserve to earn a sustainable income, and that’s why everyone on our team earns a minimum of $17 an hour – more than double Wisconsin’s minimum wage of $7.25.

Our longstanding practice of paying above-market wages is a worthwhile investment. Not only are we an award-winning workplace with exceptionally low employee turnover, but our members benefit from outstanding customer service provided by engaged and talented employees. In fact, in Consumer Reports’ ranking of banks and credit unions [January 2016], UW Credit Union ranked first in the state in customer satisfaction and among the best in the nation.
