UWCU Leader Named to Federal Advisory Council
Chad LaFlash begins term with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau subgroup
Madison, WI – March 2, 2023 – Chad LaFlash, UW Credit Union’s AVP of Research and Product Strategy, has been appointed to the Credit Union Advisory Council of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Council members advise and consult the CFPB on financial issues related to community banks and credit unions.
LaFlash has worked at UW Credit Union since 1987, starting as a teller and holding roles in Deposit and EFT Services, Information Technology, Project Management, Marketing and R&D.
“In my 35 years with UW Credit Union, I’ve been passionate about doing the right thing for our members and leading the industry with innovative products and policies that act in their best interests,” said LaFlash. “Now I’m honored and excited to use that experience to help the CFPB carry out their important work at the national level.
“UW Credit Union is proud to support the efforts of the CFPB in improving the financial lives of American consumers,” he added.
LaFlash holds certificates from the UW-Madison School of Business and is a graduate of the Filene i3 program, the NACHA Payments Institute and the CUNA Financial Management School.
