Madison, Wis. — Oct. 9, 2024 — UW Credit Union (UWCU) will open its 35th branch next week on Cottage Grove Road. The full-service branch is located at the corner of Cottage Grove Rd. and Monona Dr. on the first floor of the new Fitzgerald Apartment Complex.

UWCU’s Dane County membership grew by 20 percent in recent years; its total membership climbed to 360,000 members this fall. As the Madison area becomes more populated, the credit union considers real estate solutions that increase member accessibility and enhance the branch experience.

“Located between our Monona and east side branches, this new location is a convenient intersection point for our Madison, Cottage Grove and Monona members,” said UW Credit Union SVP Member Sales & Solutions Amy Kriebs. “It has a great walkability factor plus necessary amenities like parking and drive-up lanes.”

The Cottage Grove Road branch includes two drive up lanes with Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) plus covered member parking. It joins Madison-based Ancora Cafe in occupying the first floor of the Fitzgerald. Situated in the Lake Edge neighborhood of Madison, the branch is within walking distance of restaurants, nightlife and a library.

A community opening celebration is scheduled at the new branch on Oct. 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. The open event coincides with UW-Madison’s homecoming week and includes a meet and greet with Badger legend, Green Bay football Hall of Famer and UWCU member Mark Tauscher. The former pro football player is scheduled for an appearance from 4 to 5 p.m. During the event, guests can spin to win branded merchandise and enjoy refreshments from local establishments. Mystery grab bags containing gift cards to area businesses will be issued to the first 100 guests.
