The loan process typically takes 2-4 weeks to complete and follows these steps:

1Complete Your ApplicationSubmit your application online when you're ready to get started.

2Review of Application & Verification of PayoffsWe review your application to make sure everything is ready to go. (1-2 business days)

3Approval of Truth in Lending DisclosureYou have up to 30 days to sign lending documents.

4Final Truth in Lending Disclosure & Right of Rescission PeriodAfter you sign final documents, lending laws give you a chance to reconsider. (3 business days)

5Funds Received & Processed by Financial InstitutionsWe set up your new loan with us! (7-10 business days)
Start Your Student Loan Refinance
Our online student loan refinance process is easy. To get started, you’ll need the following:
- Identification & Contact Info – Your Social Security number, driver’s license number, address, phone number and email
- Employment Details – Your employer’s name, address and phone number, and your annual salary
- Cosigner’s Info – If applicable, you'll need to include your cosigner’s name and email address
- Student Loan Statements – To refinance existing loans, please provide a recent statement for each loan you want to refinance that includes total loan balance, interest rate, monthly payment, and an address for the servicer to mail a payoff check to
Note: UW Credit Union does not currently offer student loans for career training programs including most short term-certificates, diplomas or other programs ineligible for financial aid. Your school needs to certify eligibility. Please contact us for further information if needed.
